The two research units (RUs), involved in the FINI project, constitute a “scientific” network with complementary experiences, including the entire production process of the proposed NPs, ranging from the design [RU of Messina (RU1-UniME)], to the organic synthesis [RU of Catania (RU2-UniCT)], from the characterization (RU1-UniME, RU2-UniCT), up to the in vitro test (RU2-UniCT) and the ex-vivo models (RU2-UniCT). The team is well assorted since it combines the expertise of the PI in the field of physicochemical investigation of drug delivery systems, to that of the participants expert in organic synthesis, nanotechnology, microbiology and biology. The orchestrated synergy from all RU components can ensure a favorable outcome of the project with high impact in the area of antibiotic-resistance therapy, paving the way for potential collaborative translational research on Future and Emerging Technologies for Human Health Care.
